i has build "few" TTSH in last month..

the first TTSh was build with zthees Builders Guide and works fine, but its not effective to solder section by section.

my second and other TTSHs was build by this steps:

  1.  sort out all resistors in values:   1R - 999R, 1K - 9K, 10K-99K, 100K-999K, 1M-22M  , same with capaciators.
  2. take a label/sticker on places where you have MODS/bugfixes like c20 cap, noise mod etc..
  3. take the TTSH pcb on 25-30mm spacer (use the BD236/BD237 holes too for spacers)  you have to mount on each pcb side the spacer - so you turn the pcb for soldering..
  4. build the complete VCO- Subboards (so you dont have to look all the time for missing resistors points on the main pcb)
  5. solder all IC sockets on both pcb sides (LED IC on other pcb side)
  6. solder all voltage connectors (MTA´s) in the powersections and key cv, speaker etc.
  7. put all resistors in place on main pcb, beginn with the highest ammounts like over 60 x 100K ...  if you have nearly 80% complete, its easier to place the rest section by section.
  8. solder all resistors from top
  9. turn pcb and cut  all pins/legs shorter - so you solder all pins/legs in one step..
  10. if you have a VCO voltage regulator from nordcore, put a tape over the 100nF/10uF caps near power MTA header.
  11. Capaciators  - begin with 100nF c0g for audio path, followed by 100nF for the rest, and all other caps..   keep Attention on filmresistors, i use film caps (wima) for VCF near matched trannys and the Filter sounds very good.
  12. solder all caps from front/rear..  keep attention on C20 cap
  13. put all diodes in place and trannys..(keep attention on c20, max noise fix, bridge instead of 2n5172 in clock, in VCF matched, sont mount the Amp. cooling blocks
  14. fill all LM301 in IC-sockets
  15. create the VCO header connection for all 3 VCOs..
  16. unmount the 25-30mm spacer and replace them with final 12mm and screws..
  17. solder all faders, begin with 1 solderpoint on every side, put the frontpanel on the pcb and check the fader orientation. - alternative: bend one leg on each side and solder one point
  18. check the orientaion
  19. final soldering all faders..
  20. Jacks: solder on each corner 1-2 jacks, and 3 in middle, place the panel and then solder this few jacks.
  21. then place all jacks, bring the panel on top mount nuts on the jacks in corners and turn the panel, now you can point solder all jacks..
  22. switches..  unmount panel, put all switches in place and mount the panel, turn the panel/pcb .. the switches fall in place, solder a bit.. turn panel and check orientation on the frontpanel, if good , final solder ( please check the mechanical function of the switch before you mount them, sometimes you have faulty switches and its hard to desolder this..)
  23. build the power wiring cables and solder internal DC-DC adapter..
  24. initial check :  disconnect all sections,  check with DMM the voltage near DC-DC adapter.
  25. if you have a VCO regulator, build this and put this on the powerheader and drill a hole in pcb and mount a spacer, calibrate the regulator to 14,6V
  26. test and calibrate the TTSH - good luck
